The
cupcake was created in England in the 19th
century, and it was sent to USA, where its name was changed. In England
its name was Fair Cake, a vanilla cake with a fondant cover, very
traditional in the “5
o'clock tea”.
In
the USA it was called Cupcake, because it was done in cups, and all
measures were done by cups.
It
was a cake, done by housewifes, and normally it was gave as a gift to
the neighborhood.
The
cupcake only became famous in all the world with the TV show “Sexy
and the city” in 2002.
